Add ONVIF Cameras

ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) is an open standard for the communication of security systems based on IP technology. This standard is used by IP cameras, recording units (NVR), and software (VMS). ONVIF creates a standard for how IP products within video surveillance and other physical security areas can communicate with each other.

How do I know my camera is ONVIF compliant?

• Contact the manufacturer of your camera
• Use Onvif Device Test Tool software or other testing tools (The prerequisite is that ONVIF is enabled on your camera. Even though some cameras are ONVIF compliant, the ONVIF protocol is disabled by default.)
• Check on the ONVIF's official website: https://www.onvif.org/ch/conformant-products/

Unable to search for cameras automatically?

• Make sure that the camera is on the same subnet as the iHost
• Check if the ONVIF protocol is enabled in the camera's management interface. Even though some cameras are ONVIF compliant, the ONVIF protocol is disabled by default.
• There may be system limitations or network instability. Please add your cameras manually.

How to find the username and password?

Please check the user manual provided by the camera manufacturer or consult the manufacturer directly.

No username and password for cameras?

If your camera does not require authentication to access the video stream, the input boxes for username and password can also be left empty when adding the camera.
